In Egyptian hieroglyphs, a hieroglyph in the context can be interpreted as a phonogram, logogram or as an ideogram. That means the image of an eye may represent the word eye through graph reading (logogram), or the word I through phonetic reading (phonogram). One of the famous ones is Gardiners Sign List compiled by Alan Gardiner. In the list, common forms of Egyptian hieroglyphs were listed by categories. However, one drawback of it is one hieroglyph was listed only once, that means only one meaning or usage of the hieroglyph would be preserved in the list even if it can be interpreted as two different things. But this doesnt hinder it being a standard reference in the study of ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs. Each font roughly corresponds to the hieroglyphs in a category of the Gardiners Sign List. For each font, the hieroglyphs follow the order of A-Z, then a-z, punctuations and numerals. That means if you want to get the 5th hieroglyph in the category G of the Gardiners Sign List, you type letter E using the Egyptian Hieroglyph Font G. Simply enter your text, select a color and text effect, and hit GENERATE button. You can then save the image, or use the EMBED button to get image links. If you are not satisfied with the result, you may want to use our image tools to modify the image. ![]()
